Drowning Prevention and Water Safety Week

Fire Services across the country will be promoting water safety.

If your dog get into trouble while in the water, 

DONT JUMP IN  

STOP and think, ring 999 for the Fire Service or Coastguard and follow their advice.

There are many hidden dangers under the water’s surface, from rocks, tree branches,roots, aquatic plants, mud etc plus the currents. These are all dangerous to both dogs leaping in to the calm surface water and also to the owner entering water to rescue their dog. Although the weather may be warm and the water is an inviting cool off, the water is considerably colder and can induce Cold Water Shock to both the dog and the owner or anyone entering water no matter your age and fitness level.

Remember if your dog has struggled in the water they may have inhaled water and you should take them to the vet. Both dogs and peoples can drown a few hours after getting into difficulty in the water, as water may enter our lungs but you may be unaware at the time.

Most of you may remember I read a book by C H Clepitt called 

I wore heals to the Apocalypse which I totally loved, 

Well the author has written the follow on book to it called

Everything is better with a cape.

OMG What can I say without spoiling it for you this Book ROCKS!!

So If you love spies, Super Heroes, Friendships that are pushed to the limits but most of all badgers the this book is for you.

If you have not read this book you really should pick up both books we cant recommend them enough you will find it hard to put them down.
